Set in 51 acres of glorious Somerset countryside, Ferne is home to over 300 animals. Take a stroll on the nature trail, have a picnic and visit the animals from donkeys to chipmunks. Dogs on leads are welcome.

Lovely easy day out with for animal lovers of all ages. Free entry and a recently improved tea shop. Meet all sorts of slightly wonky rescue animals - everything from pigs and horses to cats and dogs, with a smattering of tortoises and chipmunks thrown in for good measure, all loving cared for and very cute. There's a reasonable playground and various kids activities as you walk around the sanctuary. Lovely setting and great wildlife watching on the lakes and ponds too. Easy wide paths also make it an ideal spot for scooter practice.
