A guide to the West Country from the people that know…

Braunton

The village of Braunton sits perfectly between Branstaple and the fabulous surfing beaches of Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe. This pretty village has lots to offer including a good selection of restaurants, inns, cafes and the obligatory surf shacks. There's even a surf museum to visit!

It is a village but not what we were expecting

Braunton does indeed have lots to offer. However it is very, very busy with the A361 from Barnstaple to Ilfracombe carving it’s path right through the middle. The centre of Braunton can get quite snarled up at busy times of the day. This can mean that crossing the main road is not for the faint hearted. Our take on a village is different to Classic Cottages so our expectations were not met.
