Reputed to be the oldest pub in Newport, it is said that Charles 1 used to visit here under armed guard whilst me was held prisoner in Carisbrook Castle. Nowadays you'll find a welcoming bar, outside sitting area, food served Monday to Saturday and dogs are welcome.
