Tennyson Monument

Alfred, Lord Tennyson lived nearby in Bedbury Lane, Freshwater for thirty nine years and upon his death in1892 a fund was set up to pay for a memorial. The end result is an imposing memoral pillar which stands on the site of the old Nodes signal beacon. Access is gained across the downs from the car park.
