A town so large it is split into two, the old and the new, Shanklin is perched on the south west coast. The new part of town is what you'd expect from a lovely seaside town, with a theatre at its heart that we'd thoroughly recommend. But wander out to the old town and you'll feel a world away - in another century! But in the best possible way, with cream teas and thatched cottages as well as old inns.
