Looe Beach

This large sandy beach is ideal for families, with shallow waters safe for paddling. In the height of summer it can get busy here; head for the quieter, rockier eastern end of the beach. Banjo Pier at the western end is a popular hangout for rod and line fishing and is also a lovely spot to sit and watch the trawlers as they come and go from the harbour.

Amazing

Looe beach is a must visit! The nearest parking does get full but there is a massive carpark just over by the bridge, no more than a10 minute walk to the beach but with the beautiful scenery its no hardship! The beach is sandy and the sea is not rough! The port is next to the beach and there are plenty of eating places and shops to explore. Boat trips are available and there is a lifeguard station, although no lifeguards patrol the beach. Beautiful place!

Parking is some distance away from the Beach, but the walk through the little streets of Looe is lovely. There are some wonderful individual shops which were all open even out of season in late October when we visited. The beach is brilliant with children, beautiful golden sands - ice cream shops for the little ones very nearby.
