Great for sundowner
NT members park go free. Licensed cafe open till 9pm. Lots of picnic tables. Great short walk up hill for views over beach and along coast.
Beach was beautiful with coarse sand that was fine for us to play on with a toddler. The cafe was delicious - well worth a visit even without going on the beach! We’re National Trust members so added bonus that the car park was free for us too.
Having read rave reviews we were disappointed by the breakfast we had there…cold, hard tomatoes and reheated squelchy mushrooms. The upside was sitting out in the sun next to the sea.
Hive Beach Cafe serves superb food suitable for all the family from an informal premises right on the beach. Get there early as it's very popular, but even when busy the service is usually reasonably quick.
