Dollar Cove

Dollar Cove on the Lizard takes its name from the coins that have occasionally been found here from the wreck of a 17th Century ship. Also known as Jangye-ryn. Mostly pebbly, with odd patches of sand.

Dollar Cove in Gunwalloe, often ignored in preference of neighbouring Church Cove is a real treat, especially at low tide.
At low tide an abundance of rock pools are revealed making searches for fish and crabs often fruitful and most of the sand on the beach is seen then also.
The beach stretches on and on around the corners so families can secure their own little coves to themselves - watch out though that you can still make your retreat up the beach come high tide!
