Standing at nearly 450ft above the Somerset Levels, it is well worth the walk for the 360 degree view. On a clear day you can see west to the Bristol Channel and Wales, to the north the Mendips, east over the Somerset levels to Glastonbury Tor and to the south the Quantocks and Exmoor. The Fort itself was established during the Bronze and Iron Age although little remains apart from bumps and hollows and a crescent shaped mound with external fortifications from the north east.
