The owners of Bodmin Jail have recently acquired the site and are restoring the buildings with great enthusiasm. They are hugely knowledgeable about the history of the jail and have developed an interesting and atmospheric trail around the buildings - you can even see the hanging shed and watch a demonstration of how it was done! There is also a pub and restaurant on site (The Warders' Room) which has a good reputation for Sunday lunches.
