A guide to the West Country from the people that know…

Bike Chain Bissoe Bike Hire and Cafe

Based in the south, but the route goes right through the mining heartland of Cornwall and hits the north coast at Portreath. Bikes available to hire for all ages and abilities. Tag along and buggies also available. There and back the route is about18 miles, fairly easy cycling with a bit of a pull out of Porthreath on the way back. Make a day of it, take a picnic to eat on the beach and enjoy a cuppa on your return. There's ample car parking but you do need to pay.

Great place

Take the trail to Porthreath and enjoy a snack here on your return (you'll need it!)

Coast to Coast Trail

This is a relatively easy off road route (by Cornish standards!) as its quite flat. Perfect for families as it is almost entirely traffic free. While the surface is good you need a mountain or hybrid bike with off road tyres. Great cafe at Bissoe Bike Hire and the Old Quay Inn in Devoran is certainly worth a visit.
