It's best to use the pay and display parking in Dale village and walk via the west side of the castle and along a footpath across a field to the coast path. The beach is pebble and sand and flanked by red sandstone cliffs with views towards Skokholm Island. A popular surfing beach, strong rips can occur. Dog friendly all year round and the nearest facilities are in Dale.
