In the centre of medieval Dunster you'll find this friendly, characterful inn serving delicious local food. Its history dates it back to the 16th Century, so it really evokes the traditional charm of the area. There are options for a wide range of dietary requirements, but make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

The savoury toothed amongst you will be enchanted by the opportunity to taste the soft, warm Dorset blue cheese scones that come with the Savoury Cream Tea at Locks, a delicious alternative to the ususal Cream Tea, which is also served of course. Dining in the traditional English rose garden this really is the perfect place to refuel after walking in Exmoor, shopping in Dunster High Street or spending time on the West Somerset Railway steam train from Minehead.
With a fistful of awards for both ciders and ales this is the perfect place to stop off for a drink. The staff are very knowledgeable about their drinks. There's no food available but you are allowed to get fish and chips from next door and eat them in the pub. Dogs are welcome (not on music nights) and live music plays regularly. The reviews for this place are tip top.
On the high street in Dunster, if you are in the area then this place comes highly recommended. Food is contemporary with great attention to detail. Booking is essential as there is usually a waiting list.

The Hood Arms is a 17th century coaching inn with large garden where dogs are welcome. Lunch and dinner are served daily apart from Monday's and booking ahead is recommended.
Dunster is a chocolate box village at the foot of the Quantocks and this wonderful eatery should be on your list of places to visit. You can choose from the Bar & Garden or AA Rosette dining in Psalter's Restaurant. Internally the decor is warm and cosy with open fires and comfy seating. Outside in warmer weather the garden is pure delight with lovely countryside views. You may never want to leave.
