Port Gaverne Cove

Due to its sheltered nature this narrow cove is very safe for children offering a small sandy beach with rock pools to explore at low tide. In a peaceful beach-front village around the headland of Port Isaac, the beach is overlooked by high cliffs on either side with amenities close to hand.

Polzeath Beach

Park right on the beach (be careful of the tides), stumble out of the car - and you're on one of Cornwall's finest surfing beaches. Shops, ice cream parlours and cafes tumble haphazardly towards the beach.

Daymer Bay

A sheltered crescent of sand and a perfect spot for watching windsurfers and sailors harnessing the wind and whipping along the shore. Few facilities (loos and a small cafe) give Daymer a peaceful feel.

Port Quin Beach

This sheltered rocky inlet west of Port Isaac is a good location for kayaking or coasteering.The only amenities you'll find here are a small National trust car park and a little food shack.

Lundy Bay

Like its neighbour, Epphaven Beach, this sheltered sand and rock cove is best visited at low tide. Lundy Hole, a collapsed sea cave, is at the west end of the beach. This is a great area for cliff walks.

Brea Beach

A car park above the beach gives direct access or alternatively for the more energetic, you can walk along the footpath above Rock Beach. Swimming can be dangerous due to very strong currents and steeply shelving sand. Dogs are welcome and facilities are available at the adjoining Rock Beach.

Broadagogue Cove

A rocky beach with coarse sand above half tide. Good for rock pools but take care if swimming as there are submerged rocks and currents at low water.

Cockett Haven

A small cove below New Polzeath. There's a large sandy area which is busy during the summer months and it's good for surfing but only recommended for swimming when lifeguards are on duty (April to September). Dogs are not allowed from Easter day until the end of September.

Dennis Cove

This little cove is situated just off the Camel Cycle Trail, so a great place to stop with a picnic en-route to Padstow. There's a mix of sand and shingle and because of the strong currents in the estuary, it's not advisable to swim here.

This is a very narrow sandy inlet overlooking the estuary, please be aware of the tides if visiting.
