If you are looking for the perfect family beach then this could be the one. There's a wide expanse of gently sloping golden sand and numerous rockpools alongside seasonal lifeguard cover. The beach is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it's not hard to see why with views over to Bigbury and Burgh Island.

Along with Sunny Cove, Mill Bay opposite Salcombe on Kingsbridge Estuary can be reached via a regular pedestrian ferry from Salcombe, there is also parking available. The beaches are lovely, there is a stream and good facilities.

This is a curved sandy beach and is quiet sheltered due to its shape. There is a a small amount of parking located nearby or you could park at Bigbury-on-sea, where there is ample parking, then take the pleasant 10 - 15 minute walk across to Challaborough.

Here you'll find a secluded and quiet, pebbly beach partly owned by the National Trust. There is no direct access by road, you either have to walk from the village or along the beach from Sidmouth but it's worth the effort for the seclusion, and you can even take your dog.
