Ilfracombe
One of the most popular seaside resorts in Victorian times, Ilfracombe has recently undergone something of a renaissance, with some of the most elegant Victorian architecture having been restored. Damien Hirst's new restaurant here has put the spotlight on the town and drawn food lovers from afar. Head down to the old harbour for the atmosphere, independent shops and boat trips over to Lundy Island.
