This relatively easy walk follows a mixture of country lanes and footpaths. Starting at the Tamar Lakes and extending to path alongside the Bude Canal.
Take your dog on this walk as it passes a beach and has the advantage of pubs en-route where dogs are welcome. Starting with a gentle climb out of Bude this is a lovely five and a half mile walk which takes in the Coastal Path, farmland and the canal towpath.
Walking from Crooklets Beach in the heart of Bude, north along the coast to Northcott Mouth is a great way to escape and enjoy peace and tranquility.
Open throughout the year, this peaceful nature reserve showcases the hard work of the Devon Wildlife Trust who have spent over 30 years preserving Culm grasslands. Visitors are welcome to explore 63 hectares of wildlandscape, dogs on a lead please.
This driftwood hut on the cliffs near Morwenstow is the National Trust's smallest property. It was built by the eccentric Reverend Hawker, who was vicar of Morwenstow from 1834 until his death in 1875. Hawker would sit in his hut and write poetry and it was here that he penned 'The Song of the Western Men', which has become a Cornish anthem.
A two and a half mile walk which is fairly strenuous so don't be mislead into thinking it's an easy stroll by the short mileage. It's worth the effort though as you'll take in woodland and coastal path with some amazing views. You'll also pass a pub and tea rooms giving options for a well earned break. A walk of approximately 10 miles which starts from Marhamchurch Square and follows country lanes and footpaths. The route is signposted and its name derives from the term "inclined plane" which is a system used on some canals for raising boats between water levels.
