Two very different species living happily in one sanctuary. See butterflies emerging in tropical surroundings at the butterfly farm and gain an insight into the secret underwater life of otters as you watch them from specially constructed glass enclosures. Visit the shop for otter and butterfly gifts. There are also facilities for treating any sick or injured otters that are brought to the sanctuary.

This former apple-pressing mill is now a stylish shopping centre, with plenty to do for all the family, whatever the weather. Explore the shops and galleries where you'll find a unique collection of gifts including luxury food, Dartington Crystal, jewellery, ceramics and books, or relax in one of the cafes or picnic areas. Children will enjoy the traditional toy shops and play-zone. There is also a woodland trail around the old Tweedmill with its working waterwheel, onto the Dartington Estate. All profits go to supporting the charitable activities of the Dartington Hall Trust.

Entry to the museum is through the Elizabethan merchant's shop. There you'll find reception and to the rear the herb garden and museum. Children will love the chance to dress up in the Victorian nursery. Take part in the quiz sheet, available from volunteers.

Step back in time and chug along beside the River Dart with a trip on the Buckfastleigh to Totnes railway. First opened in 1872, the route was re-opened as a preserved steam line in 1969. At Buckfastleight station there is a railway museum, model railway shop, picnic area, maze and children's play area.
Go back in time with a visit to this former pub which originally closed in 1960 and has recently re-opened to give visitors a taste of a bygone era.
Spread over four floors, this museum is an eclectic mix of records, posters and memorabilia. Entry into the museum shop is through Narnia. Well behaved dogs are welcome.
