The museum is set in the castle and offers an interesting insight into life in Bude, its varied geology, history and its progression from a port to most recently a surfing centre. Education facilities, a shop and restaurant are on site and the restaurant has stunning views.

Take a tour of this 200-year-old spinning mill and see yarn being produced on spinning frames and power looms. There is also a restaurant, picnic areas and a shop selling goods manufactured at the mill.

The garden and museum preserve the work of one of St Ives' most revered 20th century artists. Sculptor Barbara Hepworth's studio and workshop are kept much as they were when she lived and worked there. Sculptures in bronze, stone and wood are on display, along with paintings, drawings and archive material.

Now a National Trust property, Clouds Hill was once the Dorset home of Lawrence of Arabia. There is an exhibition detailing Lawrence's extraordinary life and his grave can be found in the churchyard of St Nicholas Church in Moreton. There is also a beautiful new trail through rhododendrons to a delightful picnic spot on top of the hill. House open March to October only.
