Compass Point - The Pepper Pot

Built by the Acland Family in 1840 of local sandstone, Compass Point was moved to its current position in 1880. Each of its diagonal sides is carved with the points of the compass, hence the name! It stands overlooking Summerglaze Beach and is well worth the walk for the view alone.

Courtroom Experience

In 1844 a terrible crime was committed on Bodmin Moor. As a visitor you will watch the evidence and decide whether the accused is guilty. Open week days year round and Saturday's from Easter to October, take a look at their website for further details and ticket prices.

Dunsdon National Nature Reserve

You will find very diverse wildlife habitat here due to the Culm grassland which is a marshy, heathy vegetation. With a vast range of wild flowers, plus rare plants, insects, birds and mamals, it is well worth the effort to find!

Poundstock Gildhouse

Standing alongside St. Winaloe Parish Church, Poundstock Gildhouse is a Grade 1 listed building and is a fine example of a medieval chuch house. Restoration has taken place with the aid of Heritage Lottery Funding and the Gildhouse will be open to the public and available for functions throughout the year.
