These days it's a bustling spa town (without a spa unfortunately) however it does have a great selection of high quality shops and restaurants. The Pantiles is a pedestrian area close to the town centre with exquisit Georgian architecture and well deserves its place on the shortlist of "best high streets in Great Britain".
