This large expanse of sand next to Hayle Estuary is popular with dog walkers. The dunes back onto the village of Lelant, where the path from St Uny church links up to the South West Coast Path, giving access to the beach and estuary via the dunes.

Porthkidney Beach

A wonderfully quiet and picturesque beach. Dog friendly all year (please clear up after your dog).
Please be conscious of the tide when entering from the estuary, as the tide cuts off the estuary beach from the main beach (it just means a longer walk back and up the steps).

The beach is best accessed from St Uny church, at the bottom of Lelant (next to the golf course), at low tide you can walk along the estuary and Dynamite Quay from Lelant village station.
