Worth the narrow lanes to get here, Northcott Mouth Beach is a great find. No parking charges and lifeguards in peak season.
We would recommend getting here for low tide and walking along the sandy beach (revealed only when the tide is out) to Sandymouth Beach about half an hour along where you will also find a National Trust cafe and facilities at the top of the climb up from the beach. We then walked back to Northcott across the top of the cliffs using the well marked coastal path. Excellent views and back at Northcott we stopped at Sip and Sea a lovely little outdoor cafe (run from a converted horse box) just a short few steps from the beach. Perfect!
