A guide to the West Country from the people that know…

Driftwood Spars

A bit of a north coast institution with breath-taking views, guests can dine in either the restaurant or more traditional pub, complete with three bars and real fire. There are two beer gardens to enjoy in the summer, one of which is right next to the South West Coast Path, making it a handy stop off for an en route pint or bite to eat.

Great Cornish local

The pub is very handy for those visiting the area and the local beach. However, the interior really could do with a makeover and some of the seating needs replacing.
We felt the standard of food had dropped since our visit last year and were disappointed with some of the meals we had.
Overall, friendly staff and good service.

The modern restaurant upstairs has a got a nice light and airy feel. Whenever we've eaten here, the food has been consistently good and well-presented. I'd especially recommend the local seafood dishes. Downstairs is good for settling in for a few pints in front of the fire - the old timber beams, ship wheels, ropes and old photographs make it feel like a cosy smugglers den.

Good Live Music

Great place to see local live bands on Friday and Saturday nights all year round! Always a good atmosphere and friendly staff! Park your car in their car-park for a day at the beach and get a refund when you order food in the restaurant!
