A guide to the West Country from the people that know…

Bowjey Beach

With pretty views across the bay, this is a great place for snorkelling at high tide and for rock pools. Dogs are welcome year round. The beach has grey sand and is mainly shingle and stone.

Skilly Beach

Known by locals as 'Skilly' beach, this is such a nice place to come with the dogs. At low tide you can follow the rocks around the coastline towards Penlee Lifeboat station. Perfect for that quick stroll, or longer splashing about in the rockpools.

Not a sandy beach so don't expect a lot of people there. It can be very quiet and secluded even in the height of Summer!
