Best Beaches in Dorset

With a surprising amount of beaches to choose from, our guests have whittled it down to their best three beaches in Dorset.

Chesil Beach

Faces - SWEffusive reviews mean this long long (17miles long) and strangely straight beach is the people’s favourite beach in Dorset, despite not being a typical sandy holiday destination with its pebbly drift. In fact, it is one of only three major shingle structures in Britain. And Portland Harbour is next door for activities seeing as you can’t actually swim around here.

Hive Beach

Faces - SWNext to the Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club for party members who’d rather not sunbathe, we’re not sure if this beach is a favourite for its sand and surroundings or the stunning food at the café!

Ringstead Beach

Faces - SA bit of shingle mixed with some sand, but lots of fossils! This little strip is not so well known, so benefits from quiet and calm – a good stop off on your way along the coastal path, although facilities are in the nearby village.
