we've put together a guide to help you to decide where to go and what to do.
A few years ago, the Classic Cottages team started writing about where we live
and why we love it. It began with a series of mini-guides designed to help
guests in our holiday cottages get the most of their holiday. Over time these
have evolved into the Classic Guide, our 'do-it-yourself' travel guide to
things to do and places to visit in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset.
Between us, our team of 32 people share around 242 years of local knowledge. We
like to think this helps the Classic Guide to go that little bit further than
your average tourist information site. Alongside the big name attractions, the
Michelin-starred restaurants and the picture postcard beaches, you'll find the
off-the-beaten-track gems, the secret low-tide coves, the middle-of-nowhere
pubs and end-of-the-lane farm shops to give you a backstage peek at all the
South West's best bits.
From the wild western tip of Cornwall to deepest Dorset, we've scoured
Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset for the best they have to offer - so pick
