Perranporth (1 miles)
Tin mining was once the raison d’etre of Perranporth but now it is more famous for surfing and sand yachting. Relaxation is the principal activity here and with miles upon miles of sand to play on, it’s not difficult to unwind in Perranporth. Away from the beach, Perranporth has a lively music scene with bands performing every weekend at the Watering Hole, a popular pub, and an annual celebration of folk music, the Lowender Perran Festival each autumn.

Perranporth Boating Lake and Surrounds (1 miles)
The boating lake, with swans, cygnets, ducks and ducklings to feed, sits in a newly-renovated park next to the Bowling Club (open to non members), playing field, tennis courts, children's playarea and the Railway Walk in memorial to Donald Healey (famous for the Austin Healey and Sprite sports cars).

Perranporth Beach (1.1 miles)
Perranporth is a large, sandy beach, over two miles long, with good surfing conditions. The beach is backed by extensive sand dunes and a nice walk can be found through the dunes to St Piran's Cross and the ruins of St Piran's Oratory. It's also on the South West Coast Path.

Cornish Parachute Club (2.3 miles)
The rugged cliffs and clear waters of Cornwall's north coast make an impressive backdrop for a skydive. The Cornwall Parachute Club operates from Perranporth Airfield, where you can try parachuting, skydiving and glider flights, or enjoy a scenic flight taking in the breathtaking views over the Cornish peninsular. Located on a stunning stretch of coastline near Newquay, Perranporth Airfield was used as base for Spitfires during World War 2.

Driftwood Spars (3.4 miles)
A bit of a north coast institution with a lively bar downstairs and the newer, funkier Spindrift Restaurant serving good seafood upstairs. There are two beer gardens to enjoy in the summer, one of which is right next to the South West Coast Path, making it a handy stop off for an en route pint or bite to eat. For those chilly winter months, there are three bars to choose from, where you can get cosy in front of a real fire.

Holywell Bay (3.7 miles)
Lovely sandy beach, nearly a mile long, that takes its name from a holy well said to be located in a cave on the beach, only accessible at low tide. Good for swimming and surfing. If you get bored of sunbathing, a popular walk is from here to Perranporth - 5 miles each way.

St Agnes (3.7 miles)
St Agnes lies in the heart of Cornwall’s mining heritage; all along the coast here you’ll see old mining engine houses rising from the cliffs. The steep and narrow streets here are lined with almost unbearably quaint, higgledy-piggledy cottages.

Crantock (4.2 miles)
The village of Crantock is surrounded by miles of coastal paths and stunning beaches. With picturesque thatched cottages, an art gallery, an antique shop and tea rooms the village itself is delightful. The River Gannel flows out at Crantock Beach from a mile-long estuary. An important site for native and migrating birds the area is a haven for wildlife.

The Plume of Feathers (4.8 miles)
A classic country pub with a relaxing atmosphere. Enjoy the seasonal menu and frequently changing specials board where fresh, local and traceable ingredients are used to prepare classic British and modern European fare. Mitchell has its own fruit farm and the fruit and vegetables are sourced from here. Reclaimed slate from the renovated barns is used to serve a selection of Cornish cheeses.
