Camelford (0.5 miles)
Camelford is an ancient Cornish market town through which the Camel river runs on its way to the coast at Padstow. The town itself has a good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants, but it is perhaps Camelford’s surroundings that are the real draw here. Walkers are in heaven when they venture just outside Camelford to explore the moorland and climb two of Cornwall’s highest points, the tors of Brown Willy and Rough Tor; an extinct volcano. For the less energetic, a stroll along the river banks through Enfield Park is a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Tintagel and the Rocky Valley (3.7 miles)
Take a peek at the castle ruins in Tintagel before setting out south along the coast path towards Boscastle. The views of the coastline throughout this walk are spectacular. Along the way you’ll come across a ruined village and Bronze Age carvings.

Bossiney Beach (3.9 miles)
Pretty cove near Tintagel that links up with Benoath Cove at low tide. Usually fairly quiet.

Benoath Cove (3.9 miles)
Sandy cove near Tintagel. Reached down a cliffpath, visit at low tide as it all but disappears at high tide.

Wyldes Cafe (3.9 miles)
Local produce from named farms all within a stone’s throw of Tintagel.

Tintagel Old Post Office (4.1 miles)
A 600 year old traditional Cornish longhouse, inside which is a fully restored Victorian post office.

Tintagel Castle (4.2 miles)
The remains of Tintagel Castle are at the heart of Arthurian legend. The location of the castle is spectacular – half a mile outside of Tintagel, across rugged clifftops, with no vehicular access. Tintagel Island, attached to the mainland by a sliver of land, enhances the wild and romantic atmosphere.

Brown Willy (4.2 miles)
Cornwall's highest summit (420m), affords views across the wild expanse of Bodmin Moor. On a good day, you can see across the county from Tintagel in the north to Fowey in the south. Drive north east of Camelford on the A39 Bude road, take the minor road to Tregoodwell and continue to the car park at the end of Roughtor Road. Bring a picnic or head to the infamous Jamaica Inn, now home to Daphne du Maurier memorabilia and a museum of smuggling.

The largest collection of witchcraft artefacts in the world.

Boscastle (4.4 miles)
One of the few sheltered harbours on the north coast, Boscastle became famous in 2004 due to the devastating floods that swept through the village. The community has recovered remarkably well, and Boscastle is once more a thriving resort and a lovely village to visit.

St Breward on Bodmin Moor (4.5 miles)
A good moorland walk that can be had starting from the church is St Breward, on the western side of the moor. The views will include Britain’s first commercial wind farm at Delabole, then the lovely wooded valley of the Camel estuary.
