For getting away from the traffic on two wheels, your best bet in south west Cornwall is Tehidy Country Park. This 250 acre woodland has a three mile cycle trail that is ideal for families with young children - it’s safe, easy and there is a cafe perfectly placed for pit stops. More challenging rides around the area almost all involve cycling on the road for at least part of the route - try the trip from Helston, around the Penrose Estate and along the cliff to Porthleven. The Lizard peninsula, with its many pretty villages, harbours and coves, makes for a good day of exploration by bike.
