Sand dunes to play in and level access from the car park make this a good choice for families with young children. You will find a cafe and shop here plus toilets and lifeguards in summer. Its a very popular spot for surfers and can get busy during August.

Poldhu is a great little beach, perfect for families and water-sports enthusiasts! The beach has lifeguards in summer and is great for a swim.. Good little wave too for any surfers and an onsite surf instructor for anyone wanting to learn! Cafe is lovely too. You have to pay for parking, but it's well worth it to spend a day there

This beach is just across from the car so if you have young kids and lots of 'stuff' its perfect. Doesn't benefit from the same views that many of the beaches have but a great option if you are just going for a couple of hours. We didn't eat at the cafe but the coffee was lovely.

Fantastic beach with high waves and surf. Strong currents but diligent life guards on duty. Great for a brief visit. Convenient car park, only seconds from the beach which allows one hour parking at a very reasonable 50p (as well as option of a longer stay). Equally convenient loos at edge of beach. Quite small in comparison to some of the more popular beaches but suited our teenage family, who simply wanted to get in the sea and belly board, just fine.

Great both at low or high tide this is a very flexible beach, great for families too as there is a small cafe, toilets and its only a short flat walk from the car park.
There can be strong waves though - the sea is not as flat or calm as other local beaches and due to the open coastline it can also be rather windy.
