A guide to the West Country from the people that know…

Moby Nick's

We love the name and the fishmonger who The Classic Team found while scouting for ingredients to bake a Stargazey Pie (a traditional Cornish pie made with sardines or herrings poking their heads out of the pastry at the sky). There's a good selection of fish here, and if you fancy trying your hand at foraging while you're in the area, ask Nick behind the counter - he knows his do's from his deadly don'ts.

Friendly local fishmonger

The service here is great. Nick is a mine of local knowledge and gave advice on everything from recipe tips to where to go for coffee and pastries in Dartmouth! The shop's only small, but there's a good selection of local fish and shellfish and there's a great community atmosphere to the place.

Fantastic range of fish. Dartmouth is a lovely old town where you can find a good selection of shops selling quality, locally-sourced food. We came across Moby Nick's when strolling the streets and were impressed by the helpful, knowledgable staff. Would recommend dropping in if you're in the area.
