A guide to the West Country from the people that know…

Godshill

Come here for the quintessential cream tea holiday, with thatched rooftops and picnics on the village green. There are plenty of tearooms to sample homemade cakes or have a tipple in the tiny cider shop, before walking off the treats in this picturesque location.

Great outing with the grandchildren

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the model village. The gift shop there is very good and relieved the children of some of their holiday money for fairly priced knickknacks.
As we visited on a Monday some tea rooms were closed but we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and value of the food at the cafe in the car park.

Walk to Godshill

Walked from the cottage to Godshill, it's a lovely walk and village to explore. We particularly enjoyed the Model Village. All dog friendly too.
