Legend goes John Walford murdered his wife and put her in a ditch here. Whether this is true or not is open for debate; the fact is this a lovely, scenic hill top walk of about 3 miles. Park in the car park and follow the path along side Crowcombe Road. After about 15 minutes turn right at the rough car park and cross the road leading up hill until the path splits. Take a left to the trig point, then right for 50 yards across a track. This path will lead you back in the direction of the car park over an open grassy area. This is a moderate walk, failry level with some stoney ground.
