A guide to the West Country from the people that know…

Moors Valley Country Park and Forest

Cycling, fishing, walks, golf, rope swings; there are loads of activities to try here. Choose how active you want to be - swinging through the trees on the Go Ape rope swings, chugging along taking in the scenery on the narrow gauge steam railway, or just relaxing with a picnic by the lake. A great way to spend the day in the Dorset countryside.

You won't want to leave!

Come for the day and bring a packed lunch! Parking is around £8 for a full day and entry is free! There are no bins so bring bags with you and take your rubbish home. Fantastic place for kids of all ages, there are two play areas, one for young children which is sandy and lots of things to swing and climb and play on. The other area for older children which is just brilliant. There is a walk in the forest and every few hundred yards there is another climbing frame or challenge for the kids to do. You can organise to walk through the trees (age restriction) and you walk several feet up attached to a cable. There is a land train (small charge) which takes you right around the park and to a small purpose made station. There is a picnic park with picnic tables and refreshments available. A wonderful find and you won't want to leave!
