Originally named after the Saxon definition "Maid's Field",the current Mayfield is a delightful large village with pretty red brick buildings and artisan shops including a jewellers and wooden ware producer. The delicatessen sells a wide selection of local produce and the butcher all you need for a barbeque. On street parking is usually available next to the raised brick pavements and there's free parking too in the car park nearby.
