Great fun! All qualms about freezing cold water and massive waves were quickly forgotten; decent wetsuits and boots meant the cold wasn't a problem and the professional, friendly instructors made us feel at ease in what turned out to be pretty big surf - even a hailstorm halfway through our lesson didn't dampen any spirits! Watergate Bay is a stunning location too and lunch at Fifteen makes a nice treat after a morning in the waves.
