Heal Farm Fine Food
Situated in the heart of the Devon countryside. The Heal Farm story started in the 1970s, when Anne Petch received a piglet for her 16th birthday. Now, more than 30 years on, Heal Farm is a thriving family business at the forefront of the movement to use traditional farming methods in the rearing of rare breeds. The farm's activities have now diversified to include rare breeds of lamb and beef as well as stocking non-meat products including locally reared smoked fish and wonderful traditional cheeses.

Moby Nick's
We love the name and the fishmonger who The Classic Team found while scouting for ingredients to bake a Stargazey Pie (a traditional Cornish pie made with sardines or herrings poking their heads out of the pastry at the sky). There's a good selection of fish here, and if you fancy trying your hand at foraging while you're in the area, ask Nick behind the counter - he knows his do's from his deadly don'ts.

Top 5 West Country Scoops
What's your flavour of the month? Here's our pick of the best ice creams in the South West this summer.
|
|
 | The wide open spaces and big skies of Dartmoor naturally divide Devon into three parts. The North is dominated by sweeping expanses of beach, aching to be sunbathed on, walked on and played on. Green rolling hills and a gentle coastline characterise the South - a haven for food lovers, and home to Meccas like The River Cottage. While Dartmoor’s wild, blustery, romantic moors are the perfect antidote to city life, promising to blow away the cobwebs with a welcome blast of fresh, country air.
