Here are some suggestions to keep the family happy on your holiday in North Cornwall.
Day 1 - The beach will no doubt be the main attraction. Watergate Bay has the Extreme Academy www.extremeacademy.co.uk for surfing, kite surfing and mountain boarding lessons and The Beach Hut is great for refuelling kids and adults. Further north, Daymar Bay is very popular with families and both have large car parks close by.
Day 2 - The last section of The Camel Trail starting in Wadebridge www.bridgebikehire.co.uk is the most attractive, with lovely scenery along the estuary to Padstow. There are plenty of parking and resting places along the way and a good choice of cafes and restaurants in Padstow (if you want to eat at one of Rick Stein’s establishments, the one in Middle Street is very family friendly www.rickstein.com).
Day 3 – Dairyland Farm World is a theme park started by a farmer who thought children might like to see his cows being milked. They still can, as well as feed goats, calves and small animals. There is also an indoor play area if the weather becomes unkind www.dairylandfarmworld.com.
Day 4 - Cornwall go karting at the St Eval Kart Circuit just outside Wadebridge is the largest in the West Country, with an 800m track and karts of all sizes for all ages www.cornwallkarting.com.
Day 5 - The Cornish Cyder Farm has a press house and bottlery you can tour, as well as tractor rides through 100 acres of farmland and orchards www.thecornishcyderfarm.co.uk.
Day 6 - The Lappa Valley Steam Railway at St Newlyn East, near Newquay, has three miniature linked railways around the valley, together with a boating lake, crazy golf and play areas www.lappavalley.co.uk.
