The Gurnard´s Head in Zennor has an excellent kitchen and a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy the cornish hospitality

As locals we eat here for special occasions as we love the ethics and quality of this pub's food; local/foraged/different. It's really friendly and it hasn't lost it's atmosphere as a pub and stopping in for a drink is always welcome.

As a property owner and someone who is a very positive advocate for everything local, I was absolutely stunned by the appalling attitude of one of the members of staff (possibly the manager) who I spoke to over the telephone. I enquired as to the vegetarian options and was given the impression that it was a 'bit of an effort' to even try and accommodate anything remotely like a meat substitute for their Sunday lunch. I have eaten at this restaurant before and each time left thinking that the service was poor and 'aloof'. I get the impression that they think they are better than they actually are. The food and service comes way behind the likes of The Victoria Inn, 2 Fore Street, The Bay and other great local pubs and restaurants in this stunning part of West Cornwall. Shame on you The Gurnard's Head. I will definitely not be recommending this pub to the 100 or so families that we have direct contact with each year when they holiday with us.

A brilliant combination of friendly staff and absolutely amazing food make this one of our favorite destinations when holidaying nearby. Using locally sourced and wild ingredients the menu is always varied and exciting and the fact that locals use the place too is testament to the fact that they have got everything right.

My boyfriend and I went for an evening meal and were very disappointed. It was very over priced and nothing special. The service was poor but having said that I complained and had very positive feedback from the Manager. Worth a second whirl me thinks!

Visited for the first time on Saturday 10th January for a hearty soup and a beer. The soup was amazing - ginger and squash, and perfect for warming the cockles before embarking on a 5-mile walk. Service was fast and efficient, but heard that it can be slow when busy. Would highly recommend.

Great pub with open fires for the winter and lovely gardens for the summer. The restaurant has grown in size and they now offer some very good food.
