A guide to the West Country from the people that know…

Mousehole

This cosy village is awash with myth and legend; it would seem that most fairytales concerning Cornwall feature Mousehole. The Christmas lights here draw people from the four corners.

Mousehole and surrounding area

Mousehole is a beautiful little village and harbour with many small shops to buy locally made gifts and crafts, several very good places to eat,in particular Pam's Pantry, where all the food is freshly prepared and very reasonable! For evening meals,2 Fore street and The Cornish Range are both excellent.Places to visit nearby include Marazion where you can walk across the causeway at low tide to St Michael's Mount...very interesting! Porthcurno and The Minack Theatre are both worth a visit, and there is a spectacular walk along the coastal path to Lamorna. If you want to leave the car behind,a regular bus service runs half-hourly into Penzance and from there connecting services will get you to many other popular beaches including St.Ives,Sennen Cove etc.
