The Lizard Lighthouse

We visited the Lizard on a cold blustery day and were pleasantly surprised with the updated visitor centre and tour of the Lighthouse. The guide (John) was very knowledgable and pleasant. He was especially good with the children in the party and answered questions patiently. A good place to while away and hour or so before a walk down to the most Southerly Point

Lizard Lighthouse Visitor Centre, lighthouse and small but perfectly formed discovery centre. We visited with our 4year old and 7 year old daughters. The current Keepers show you in up to one of the lanterns, and then there is a very well laid out visitor centre describing the history of Trinity House and UK light houses, with a live display of passing ships, amongst other activities. The ticket also gives you access to the Visitor Centre for an extended period. Follow this off with whitebait and chips (or sausage beans and chips) at Polpeor Cafe overlooking the sea, a short walk away. Park in NT car-park or near cafe. Check visiting times on Trinity House website.
