Beacon Hill Wood, Roman Road and Tumuli Walk

*Recommended by a Classic Owner* From the village go to Doulting and Pitts Wood and down to Ingsdon Hill (see Doulting church walk). From there head north up the remains of the Roman road, The Fosse Way (now a RUPP , road used as a public footpath) towards Beacon Hill Woods (site of a Bronze Age barrow cemetery and bought by the Woodlands Trust in 1995). Head east along Three Ashes Lane (track) and into Red Lane heading home via Long Cross Bottom, Funtle Lane (track), Waterlip and Dean's Bottom. Cross the A361 in Dean and go across the field on a footpath to Cranmore, taking another footpath across fields to Home Farm Two and back via Brottens Road. Approximately 12 miles.
