Swanpool Beach

Swanpool Beach is outside Falmouth between Gyllyngvase and Maenporth beaches. Spend a while on the sand and then meander up to enjoy the view and have a bite to eat on the terrace of Hooked on the Rocks restaurant (formerly the Three Mackerel).

Great beach - try the watersports

We visited Swanpool for a week at the end of May and we booked up Coasteering and Kayaking with Elementhal UK which was brilliant - mix of ages from 14 to 52 and we all managed to do it so was good. The instructor was very good and tailored the tour to take into account the age groups. We also did Kayaking which was a great laugh - you get to see a lot more out to sea and discover the bays that you can only get to by boat. Again instructor was very good.

The Beach Cafe at Swanpool is really good - food was amazing and can highly recommend the Quirky Ice Creams. We didn't feel that anything here was overpriced and was good value for money.

The beach is sandy/shingle with rocks - boys loved rock pooling, there is also a nice restaurant that overlooks the beach Hooked on the Rocks which was also great food. We went there in the evening. We didn't have good weather but it was still nice to sit on the beach and drink coffee at the cafe - try the Date and Pecan Flapjack it was yum!

Beautiful setting

We spent a windy September morning on Swanpool Beach and loved it! Toddler amused himself putting stones in a bucket (it's not a particularly sandy beach) and the rest of us enjoyed relaxing by the rocks. We left our comfy spot only to get food from the great cafe on the beach.

Very large and efficient car park across the road from the beach - some entrepreneurial guys have even set up a hand car wash so you can have the car washed whilst enjoying the beach!

Will definitely return.

Nice beach and a short stroll uphill takes you to The Three Mackerel - definitely worth a visit!

A good beach for families as it is normally good for swimming but with enough small waves for children to bodyboard. The rough sand can be a bit off putting and it's not for sandcastles but the beach cafe is good and there is also a crzy golf by the car park. A nice coffee at the 'Three Mackerel' overlooking the beach is very relaxing. We always have a day out here.
