Mousehole Beach

One of Cornwall’s most picturesque fishing villages, the strip of sand in the harbour can get quite busy in summer. The local kids enjoy pier jumping into the harbour. On the way into Mousehole from Penzance, there is a rocky strip of beach with a small pool in front of the Old Coastguard Hotel where you can while away the time exploring rockpools.

Harbour beach

The smaller of the two harbour beaches are lovely. You have to look up your tide times to get it where the sea is inside the harbour wall and then it's the perfect soft sand beach for kids to explore the rock areas and fishing boats. We could jump off the harbour wall into the sea and the weather was glorious all week. The town itself is quaint and pretty with lots of interesting galleries, cafes and shops. Absolute paradise.

coast path Mousehole to Lamorna

We did this starting in the beautiful village of Mousehole. The path has some muddy spots so good footwear is necessary. In Lamorna there's a small Café/Restaurant (closes 6 p.m) and a tiny shop (closes 4.30 p.m). The way back we walked the inland path which is very beautiful as well but yet a bit muddier.
Duration ca. 3 hours if the path is in good condition, it took us more than 4 hours.
